Maybell Quantum is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to develop and design the next generation in quantum infrastructure. This person excels in a fast-paced, hardware-based startup environment. They possess excellent technical and analytical skills and can effectively manage small projects while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Determine technical specifications for sub-systems and components to meet overall product development requirements
Collaborate across teams and departments to determine root cause of issues, identify corrective actions, and implement design changes to improve existing products and processes
Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.
Drive sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.
Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality product
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
1-3 years working experience in mechanical design
A proven track record of bringing mechanical concepts to reality
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software
Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard
Experience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)
Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
Machine shop and fabrication skills
