Summary:
The Process Engineer manages the entire cement manufacturing process. This position analyzes the process and suggests ways to improve operations.
What you’ll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Analyzes the cement production process and implements changes for optimal operating conditions for fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency and production rate.
Participates in the training of the control room operators on the proper ways of using plant equipment.
Works closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
Performs programming of the plant’s programmable control systems and provides maintenance, documentation and improvements for computerized process systems.
Performs performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
Maintains equipment performance records including wear part life history.
Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality-controlled cement efficiently and cost-effectively.
Optimizes process by testing, data gathering, sampling and in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
4 year/Bachelors degree in mechanical/chemical engineering or closely related field is required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical/chemical engineering or closely related position
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently
Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills
Knowledge of pyro processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow and related principles
Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines
Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
