Position Summary
The Lupus Program at The Centre for Prognosis Studies in Rheumatic Diseases (CPSRD) located at Toronto Western Hospital has a focus on diagnosis, treatment and genetic factors of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), and has an outstanding tradition of combining scientific rigor with practical relevance. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Analyst I to support research, data management, reporting, and database development activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing research databases, ensuring data integrity, developing reports, and supporting study teams with data collection and analysis processes.
Duties
Working under the directions of the Director of the Lupus Program and other senior research staff members, the Research Analyst's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and maintain research databases and electronic data capture systems using Oracle and REDCap
Build and maintain REDCap projects, forms, surveys, data dictionaries, and user access controls.
Maintain and optimize Oracle database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and SQL queries
Support data capture, validation, quality assurance, and data cleaning activities
Develop and implement data management plans for research studies and projects
Monitor data integrity, security, and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements
Extract, transform, and prepare datasets for analysis and reporting
Execute administrative tasks in various capacities as needed
At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree program, or recognized equivalent in Health or Science-Related Discipline
Minimum 1 year related experience is required
Clinical research experience, preferred
Experience with medical terminology, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills, computer skills, ability to learn quickly and work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and attend to details
Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
Experience using data management systems and research data management and electronic data capture applications
Proficiency with MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
Experience working in a health care environment, preferred
