Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer | Remote | $41 per hour
Your new company
A well-established local government organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering compliant procurement outcomes while working closely with operational departments and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance leadership team and working alongside an established procurement professional, you will provide end-to-end procurement and contract management support across a range of goods, services and works categories.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting internal stakeholders to develop and finalise procurement scopes and specifications.
Coordinating formal RFQ and tender processes through procurement platforms such as VendorPanel and TenderLink.
Managing procurement activities from market approach through to contract award.
Facilitating evaluation processes and providing procurement advice to evaluation panels.
Drafting and administering contracts for procurement activities valued above $30,000.
Assisting with contract performance reviews and procurement reporting activities.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen procurement processes, governance and capability across the organisation.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing practical procurement guidance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous procurement and contract management experience within a Local Government environment - ESSENTIAL
Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, policies and governance requirements.
Experience managing RFQ and tender processes using systems such as VendorPanel, TenderLink or similar eProcurement platforms.
Proven ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
Strong contract drafting, evaluation and contract administration experience.
