Job Description
Everforth ECS is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to work remotely.
Everforth ECS is seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform focused on providing data solutions that empower our federal customers. In this role, you will be guiding a cross-functional team (composed of data scientists, data engineers, developers, and functional staff) to support our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office.
The Sr. Data Engineer will be a key member of our team. They will provide critical support in product development using their expertise to merge technical, business, and customer needs into achievable objectives and driving the completion of those objectives. As an expert in delivering technical projects, the Engineer will identify challenges and improvements to process and technical innovation. The Engineer will improve a production system by hardening the pipeline, improving event detection and root cause analysis, mature an AI agent analyst, and lead cross-functional team members to deliver those improvements.
Job Responsibilities Include
Complete development efforts across data pipeline to store, manage, store, and provision to data consumers.
Partner with data scientists, data architects, and federal stakeholders to deploy enhancements into production.
Write code to ensure the performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
Support continuous process automation for data ingest including new sources and upstream data format changes.
Achieve technical excellence by advocating for and adhering to lean-agile engineering principles and practices such as simple design, continuous integration, version control, and automated testing.
Work with program management and engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements.
Help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
Ability to vet new and novel technologies in the big data space and AI agent space, make recommendations and articulate risk involved with each solution.
Collaborate with others as part of a cross-functional team that includes user experience researchers and designers, product managers, engineers, and other functional specialists.
Salary: $150,000 - $160,000

Required Skills
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
10+ years of IT experience including experience in design, analysis, and implementation of large-scale, complex data architectures.
Support Business Development efforts through maturing strategic solution ideas and aligning them with customer needs.
Proficiency in manipulating data (Python, SQL).
Ability to develop a roadmap that links the deployment of architectural capabilities within the organization to address inherent challenges faced by the organization.
Ability to work hands on with developers to deliver solutions and provide customer support and solutioning.
Strong ability to communicate technical solutions with multiple stakeholders at different leadership levels to build relationships, provide guidance, and explain business value of technical solutions.
Experience working in Agile environment leveraging advanced design and engineering best practices.
Building solutions that make use of data to improve business insights, help with operational decisions.
Knowledge of Data Management and Data Architecture concepts, Data Warehousing and Big Data tools, Data Analytics and applicable knowledge of Data Science concepts and tools.
Experience working and deploying AWS Cloud native data and AI technologies.
Desired Skills
Experience with DHS and knowledge of DHS standards a plus.
Experience working and deploying AWS Cloud and AI technologies.
Experience building LLM agents with tool use (Amazon Bedrock Agents, AgentCore, Strands, or an equivalent), including prompt evaluation and text-to-SQL guardrails.
React experience (JavaScript or TypeScript, data-heavy dashboards, live charts). The team is starting to build its analyst-facing application in React.
Understanding technical delivery tools like source code management, agile management, data analysis and dashboarding, and ticket management.
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
Proven success in consulting and advising customers.
