Backend Developer – Python & Google Cloud
Location: Remote, Colombia
Duration: 6 months, with potential extension
Start Date: ASAP
Time Zone: Must have meaningful overlap with US Eastern Time, including availability through approximately 1–2 PM ET when required.
About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Developer to build and support scalable, cloud-native services for a modern digital platform.
Key Requirements
+5 years of experience with Hands-on Python backend development on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
REST API design, development, integration, and production support
Event-driven development using Google Pub/Sub or comparable messaging technology
Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of cloud-native applications, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems
Experience troubleshooting backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud environments
Ability to develop maintainable, testable, secure, production-ready code
English advanced is a must.
What You’ll Do
Develop backend services and APIs using Python and GCP
Design, test, document, and maintain RESTful APIs
Build asynchronous integrations and event-driven workflows
Integrate APIs and services across application, platform, and data systems
Support production environments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and Agile delivery
Collaborate with engineers, architects, data teams, and product partners
