Director of Renewable Energy

Role Description The Director of Renewable Energy will lead the development and oversight of renewable energy initiatives for Gremio de Retail y Distribución de la CCL in a part-time, remote capacity. This role includes designing and implementing renewable energy strategies for member organizations, advising on regulatory and policy implications, and identifying opportunities to optimize energy usage and sustainability performance. The Director will coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and industry stakeholders to evaluate projects, prepare technical and financial assessments, and present recommendations to leadership. Daily activities involve analyzing energy data, monitoring market and policy trends, preparing reports and presentations, and supporting educational programs and advocacy efforts related to renewable energy. The role requires independent work, effective virtual collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects with clear priorities.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret energy data, assess project feasibility, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Knowledge of energy policy and regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy and the retail and distribution sectors.
Experience in the energy industry, including familiarity with market dynamics, stakeholders, and sector-specific challenges.
Expertise in renewable energy technologies, project evaluation, and sustainability practices relevant to commercial operations.
Background in energy management, including energy efficiency, demand optimization, and cost reduction strategies.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, energy management, economics, public policy, or a related field.
Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives, working remotely, and communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in en_US; additional language skills are an asset.
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations to advance renewable energy goals.
Experience with project management tools, data analysis software, and standard office productivity applications.
