Freelance Illustrator – Watercolor Book Series

An opportunity is available for a talented illustrator to create a cohesive series of up to 50 atmospheric spot illustrations for an upcoming adult travel book focused on eerie destinations across America. Each chapter will feature a unique illustration inspired by subjects such as lanterns, vintage suitcases, lighthouses, historic buildings, or cryptids, all rendered in a soft watercolor or gouache style, or expressive linework with selective color washes. The desired mood is vintage, slightly eerie, and evocative, with a focus on a central subject and minimal background. The final artwork must be original, human-created, high-resolution, and suitable for professional print publication. Generative AI is not permitted. Visual references and final print specifications will be provided. The project deadline is April 2027, with publication scheduled for fall 2028. This role offers the potential for ongoing collaboration and requires a consistent visual style throughout the series.
Deliverables
