Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of backend development, architecture, scalability and production systems.
Location: Chennai (Hybrid)
Experience: 3–6 Years
CTC: ₹20–30 LPA
Target Joining: October 2026
Key Responsibilities
Architect, build and deploy backend features and services.
Design database schemas and handle complex migrations.
Build and scale APIs with a focus on performance and reliability.
Work on system design, scalability, monitoring, logging and production issues.
Maintain strong engineering standards through code reviews and automated testing.
Identify and reduce technical debt.
Contribute to CI/CD and deployment improvements.
Explore AI-assisted engineering workflows and automation.
Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decisions.
Collaborate with Product, Frontend and other stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
3–6 years of backend engineering experience.
Experience with Ruby on Rails, Django, Express or similar MVC frameworks.
Strong SQL, relational database, ORM and schema design experience.
Good understanding of system design, scalability, performance and reliability.
Experience building and scaling APIs and production systems.
Strong automated testing and code review practices.
Experience owning technical deliveries or leading engineering initiatives.
Strong problem-solving, ownership and communication skills.
B2B SaaS / product-company experience preferred.
Nice to Have
Ruby on Rails experience.
Technical mentoring experience.
CI/CD and infrastructure exposure.
AI-assisted development experience.
Multi-tenant SaaS experience.
