Role Description
Vezira Seeds is seeking a passionate and experienced Onion Breeder to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on developing superior onion varieties through structured breeding programs and field evaluation.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and managing onion breeding programs, conducting field trials, evaluating breeding lines, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support varietal development and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage onion breeding programs.
Develop high-yielding and disease-resistant onion varieties.
Conduct field trials and data analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, and Marketing.
Maintain breeding records and support varietal evaluation activities.
Preferred Qualifications
M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a related field.
Strong experience in onion crop and onion breeding.
Hands-on experience in varietal development and field evaluation.
Passion for agriculture and farmer-centric innovation.
