Job description
A Paediatric Registrar is a qualified physician specializing in the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, working under the supervision of a consultant pediatrician. The role involves a balance of clinical duties, education, research, and supervision of junior medical staff. Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include clinical care, communication, administration, education, and development.
Clinical Care: This involves performing physical examinations and assessments, diagnosing and treating pediatric conditions, developing treatment plans with senior staff, performing procedures and emergency resuscitation, monitoring patient progress, participating in rounds and on-call rosters, and managing emergencies.
Communication & Administration: Responsibilities include communicating with patients and families, maintaining medical records, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and adhering to hospital policies and regulations.
Education & Development: This involves supervising junior staff, participating in teaching and meetings, engaging in continuous professional development, and contributing to quality improvement.

Education: Requires a medical degree and completion of internship and residency in pediatrics, often with further specialty training.
