Project Engineer – STP/WTP (Execution & Commissioning)

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
About us
Aqua Environmental Consultants designs, builds and maintains water and wastewater treatment systems (STP, WTP and OWC) for commercial buildings, IT parks and hotels.
The role
You will lead two upcoming STP/WTP projects in Hyderabad from site mobilisation through commissioning and handover. You will own execution on site: people, material, schedule, quality and startup.
Key responsibilities
Lead site execution of STP/WTP projects: civil coordination, mechanical erection, piping, and electrical/instrumentation interfaces
Read and follow P&IDs, GA drawings and layouts; raise and resolve site clashes with the design team
Supervise installation of pumps, blowers, diffusers, media, clarifier/tube settlers, filters (PSF/ACF), UF skids and dosing systems
Plan and track the site schedule, material requirements and daily progress; report weekly to management
Manage contractors, fitters and labour on site; enforce safety practices
Run pre-commissioning checks (hydro tests, rotation checks, no-load/load trials)
Commission biological systems (SBR/MBBR): seeding, acclimatisation, MLSS/DO control, and stabilising outlet quality to norms
Set up and optimise dosing (chlorine, coagulant, polyelectrolyte, antiscalant)
Coordinate treated-water testing and help with TSPCB/client compliance documentation
Prepare commissioning reports, O&M manuals and as-built inputs; train client/O&M staff at handover
Take part in client meetings, site inspections and punch-list closure
Must have
4–5 years of hands-on STP/WTP experience, including at least one new plant commissioned from mechanical completion to stable output
Working knowledge of SBR and/or MBBR processes, filtration, UF, dosing systems, pumps and blowers
Ability to read P&IDs and GA drawings
Experience managing contractors and labour on site
Willingness to be based on site in Hyderabad and travel between two project locations
Communication in English and Telugu or Hindi
Good to have
Experience with commercial buildings, IT parks or hotel projects
Exposure to MBR, RO or OWC (organic waste converter) systems
Basic PLC/SCADA or panel troubleshooting
Knowledge of TSPCB norms and CPCB discharge/reuse standards
AutoCAD or MS Project / Excel-based scheduling
Two-wheeler and valid driving licence
