Founding Engineer — Secure Systems (technical co-founder track)

We're building product-authentication technology for physical goods, with customers in India and Europe. You'd be our first technical hire.
The role
Own the security-critical core of the platform — the architecture, the first build, and its independent security review.
What you'll do
• Build low-latency services that verify authenticated messages from secure hardware
• Own key management end to end — HSM or cloud KMS, key derivation, rotation and audit
• Build strongly consistent state for replay protection under concurrency
• Threat-model the system and take it through external security audit
• Support device provisioning with hardware and platform partners
• Help hire the team that follows
Must have
• 6+ years of backend engineering, including ownership of a security-critical production system
• Applied cryptography — symmetric primitives, MAC verification, key derivation
• HSM or cloud KMS in production
• Distributed systems: strong consistency, idempotency, concurrency
• Low-latency API design
Strongly preferred — any one
• Secure NFC or smart cards (MIFARE DESFire, NTAG DNA family, SUN/SDM)
• EMV, SIM/eSIM, transit ticketing, access control or PKI
• Verifiable credentials or decentralised identity
• Smart-contract security
