About the Role
ShareRide2Go is Nigeria's verified intercity carpooling platform connecting private car owners with passengers travelling the same route. We are building the Android and iOS mobile app to complement our fully live web platform.
The backend is 100% complete and running in production — all APIs are built, tested, and live. This role is purely frontend mobile development. You will build beautiful, intuitive screens that connect to our existing infrastructure. No backend work required.
Success in this role looks like a polished, fast, and trustworthy mobile app that Nigerian users can download, register on, book a ride, and travel safely — all within minutes of first opening the app.
Responsibilities
Build the SR2Go Android and iOS mobile app using React Native
Implement passenger-facing screens: registration, identity verification with live selfie capture, trip search, seat booking, payment processing, GPS tracking, QR code display, SOS emergency button, referral dashboard, and in-app AI chat support
Implement driver-facing screens: trip posting, passenger management, QR code scanning at pickup, earnings dashboard, and bank account registration
Integrate with our live REST API backend — all endpoints are documented and testable
Integrate Firebase push notifications — already configured on the backend
Implement Google Maps for live GPS trip tracking
Build a clean, premium UI consistent with our brand colours and design direction
Write maintainable, well-structured React Native code
Test thoroughly on real Android and iOS devices before delivery
Prepare and submit the app to Google Play Store and Apple App Store
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of React Native development experience
At least one published app on Google Play Store — link required with application, no exceptions
Strong experience integrating REST APIs with React Native
Experience with Nigerian payment gateway SDK (Paystack or similar)
Solid understanding of React Navigation — stack, tab, and drawer navigation
Experience with device camera integration — selfie capture and QR code scanning
Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
Experience with Google Maps or similar geolocation SDK
Strong eye for UI detail — typography, spacing, transitions, and visual polish
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Available minimum 20 hours per week for the duration of the project
Nice to have:
Previous experience building fintech, transport, or ride-sharing apps
Familiarity with Nigerian market UX patterns and user behaviour
Experience submitting apps to both Google Play Store and Apple App Store
GitHub profile with React Native projects
