Payroll Officer
Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Payroll Officer to manage payroll-related processes and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. The role involves maintaining payroll records, processing salary calculations, handling payroll documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable payroll policies, regulations, and internal procedures.
Key responsibilities include collecting and verifying attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll-related information. You will process monthly payroll, calculate statutory contributions and deductions, prepare payroll reports, and ensure all payroll data is accurate and properly documented.
The role also involves maintaining employee payroll records, updating personal and salary information, responding to payroll-related inquiries, and coordinating with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve discrepancies or missing information. You will assist with payroll reconciliations, payment schedules, payroll documentation, and related administrative activities.
You will support payroll audits, maintain confidentiality of employee compensation information, and ensure payroll processes are completed according to established deadlines. The position also requires monitoring changes in payroll regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies to ensure ongoing compliance and process accuracy.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong understanding of payroll processing, salary calculations, deductions, allowances, and statutory contributions.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling payroll and employee information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and payroll or HR management systems.
Ability to maintain accurate payroll records and confidential employee information.
Good understanding of payroll compliance, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.
Ability to perform payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies or calculation errors.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to respond professionally to employee payroll queries and coordinate effectively with HR and finance teams.
Strong integrity, confidentiality, responsibility, and professional judgment.
