Key Responsibilities Diagnose Faults: Use digital scanners, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to find issues in wiring, starters, alternators, and computers.Repair and Replace: Fix or change broken wires, fuses, lights, switches, and circuit boards.Install Equipment: Set up new accessories, alarms, stereos, and security systems.Communicate Costs: Talk with customers about vehicle problems, explain needed repairs, and give price estimates.Keep Records: Fill out job reports and document all parts and labor used.Job RequirementsEducation: High school diploma plus vocational training or a certificate in auto-electrical repair.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and modern vehicle computer systems.Physical Ability: Capability to work in tight spaces, stand or crouch for long periods, and see fine color details in wires.Problem-Solving: Strong skills to troubleshoot complex electronic failures.
