Head of Consenting HUB 1

Vattenfall is looking for a new Head of Consenting HUB 1 with responsibility for consenting teams across Denmark, Sweden and the UK. Reporting to the Head of Consenting, you will work closely with the Head of Consenting Hub 2, who leads the teams in Germany and the Netherlands.
As Head of HUB 1 you will combine people leadership, technical expertise and strategic influence across Vattenfall's offshore wind portfolio. You will lead a team of experienced Consent Managers who are responsible for securing and managing the consents required to develop, construct, operate and ultimately decommission offshore wind projects.
This role goes beyond delivery of consents. You will help shape how the consenting function develops, support portfolio strategy and business planning, and ensure that Vattenfall continues to build a strong and capable consenting organisation across its core offshore wind markets. Success in this position requires a combination of offshore consenting experience, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to support and develop people in a complex international environment.
Key responsibilities
As Head of HUB 1 you will be responsible for creating the conditions that enable your team and projects to succeed. You will provide direction on complex consenting matters while ensuring that Consent Managers remain accountable for their projects and continue to grow professionally.
Your responsibilities include:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of Consent Managers across Denmark, Sweden and the UK.
Overseeing consenting delivery across the Hub 1 portfolio, including prioritisation of activities and allocation of resources.
Supporting the development and implementation of consenting strategies for major offshore wind projects.
Providing guidance on complex regulatory, environmental, stakeholder and commercial challenges.
Working closely with the Head of Consenting and the Hub 2 leadership team to establish consistent ways of working across markets.
Contributing to organisational development, succession planning and capability building within the consenting function.
Providing consenting input to portfolio strategy, opportunity assessment and wider business development activities.

You are an experienced leader who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and enjoys developing people, building strong teams, and driving collaboration across functions. You bring a combination of strategic thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to create clarity and direction in a changing environment.
You have experience with offshore wind, large-scale infrastructure, energy, or another highly regulated industry. While you may not have worked across every aspect of consenting, you have built expertise in several of the following areas:
Offshore wind consenting, permitting or comparable regulatory frameworks, ideally in Denmark, Sweden, the UK or other relevant markets.
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA), or similar environmental assessment processes.
Developing and implementing strategies within complex regulatory and project environments.
Building productive relationships with regulators, authorities, stakeholders, and project partners.
Leading programmes, managing budgets, consultants, risks, and key project milestones.
Supporting consent compliance during construction and operations, including amendments, variations, or equivalent regulatory processes.
Most importantly, you are a people leader. You know how to engage, coach and develop specialists, enabling them to perform at their best while fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture. You are comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational needs and can effectively navigate complex stakeholder landscapes to achieve results.

Qualifications and experience
You have built your career within offshore wind consenting or a comparable infrastructure environment and are ready to take on a broader leadership role within an international portfolio.
We would expect you to have:
A degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Geography, Planning, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
5-10 years of relevant professional experience, including substantial offshore wind consenting experience.
Experience delivering major infrastructure consent applications
Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong practical knowledge of EIA and HRA processes.
Experience managing complex consenting programmes, consultants, budgets, risks and project interfaces.
Strong stakeholder and regulator management experience.
Experience working across different phases of the offshore wind project lifecycle or comparable projects.
Strong strategic, commercial and organisational judgement within an international and multidisciplinary organisation.
