Backend & DevOps Engineer (Mid-Level)

We are looking for a (Mid-level) Backend & DevOps Engineer who can contribute independently across DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Backend Engineering, deployment, and production operations.
The role will primarily focus on application deployment, containerization, CI/CD, Linux/server management, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, troubleshooting, and infrastructure reliability, while also contributing to backend API development and database integration.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with production or production-like environments and be comfortable troubleshooting issues across the application, infrastructure, networking, and deployment layers.
Required Technical Skills
DevOps / Cloud (Primary)
Strong Linux fundamentals and command-line usage
Networking concepts: HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, ports, TCP/IP, firewalls, and troubleshooting
Git and GitHub
Docker and Docker Compose
CI/CD pipelines and deployment
AWS fundamentals and hands-on experience with cloud services
Nginx and reverse proxy configuration

Key Responsibilities
DevOps / Cloud — 60%
Deploy and maintain applications across development, staging, and production environments.
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated application delivery.
Containerize applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
Manage and maintain Linux servers and application environments.
Deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure.
Configure and maintain Nginx, reverse proxies, SSL/TLS, and application routing.
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
Monitor application and infrastructure health and proactively identify issues.
Troubleshoot deployment failures, service failures, connectivity issues, and production incidents.
Analyze application and infrastructure logs to identify root causes.
Improve deployment reliability, availability, and operational efficiency.
Implement appropriate practices for secrets, credentials, permissions, and server access.
Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting or infrastructure-as-code where appropriate.
Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve application performance, reliability, and deployment processes.
Backend Development — 40%
Develop, maintain, and improve REST APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
Design and implement backend services based on functional and technical requirements.
Integrate backend applications with MySQL databases.
Write efficient and maintainable SQL queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve backend bugs and production issues.
Implement API validation, authentication, authorization, error handling, and logging.
Improve backend application performance and reliability.
Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
Collaborate with frontend and engineering teams to deliver reliable end-to-end functionality.
Ensure backend services are designed and configured for efficient deployment and operation.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
Has 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Backend Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a closely related role.
Has strong practical knowledge of Linux, networking, Git, Docker, APIs, databases, and cloud environments.
Has experience deploying and troubleshooting applications in development, staging, or production environments.
Understands the complete application delivery lifecycle from code → Git → build → containerization → CI/CD → deployment → monitoring.
Can independently troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, and networking layers.
Has practical experience with AWS and containerized application deployment.
Is comfortable working with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
Understands database design fundamentals and can work effectively with MySQL and SQL.
Can identify root causes rather than relying only on trial-and-error fixes.
Demonstrates good problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills.
Is comfortable learning and adopting new technologies as the infrastructure and application stack evolves.
Education
B.E / B.Tech / BCA / B.Sc / MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
