Role Description The Commercial Account Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts and providing ongoing service to business clients. In this position, the Commercial Account Manager will handle policy renewals, endorsements, and coverage changes, ensuring that clients’ insurance programs remain accurate and up to date. Daily tasks include responding to client inquiries, reviewing coverage options, preparing proposals, coordinating with carriers, and assisting with claims-related questions. The role also involves identifying opportunities to enhance coverage, cross-sell additional products, and support producers in securing new business. The Commercial Account Manager will maintain detailed records in agency systems, collaborate with internal teams, and uphold high standards of communication, professionalism, and client satisfaction in a remote work environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong account management skills, including portfolio oversight and relationship management.
Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills to address client needs, resolve issues, and deliver a positive client experience.
Candidates should possess solid insurance knowledge, ideally in commercial lines, including policy structures, coverage forms, and carrier processes.
Candidates should possess clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
Candidates should possess sales and business development skills to recognize coverage gaps, recommend solutions, and support growth of commercial accounts.
Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in an insurance agency or brokerage, proficiency with insurance management systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and attention to detail.
Relevant state insurance licenses (such as Property & Casualty) and a high school diploma or equivalent are required; a college degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
