Junior Develope (Entry-Level / Junior)

Role Description This is a part-time, remote Junior Developer (Entry-Level / Junior) role. The Junior Developer will assist in building, testing, and maintaining web-based applications and tools that support adult care services. Daily tasks include implementing simple features, fixing bugs under guidance, writing clean and well-documented code, and performing basic code reviews with more experienced team members. The role involves collaborating with designers, product owners, and other developers to refine requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a reliable user experience. The Junior Developer will also participate in stand-up meetings, update task trackers, learn best practices for secure and accessible development, and support continuous improvement of the technology stack.
Qualifications
Foundational programming skills in at least one modern language (such as JavaScript, Python, or Java), with the ability to write, test, and debug simple features.
Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, and introductory front-end frameworks) and interest in building user-facing applications.
Familiarity with version control tools (such as Git) and collaborative development workflows, including branching, commits, and pull requests.
Ability to read technical documentation, follow coding standards, and apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
Strong attention to detail, particularly in testing, documentation, and handling user data with care and confidentiality.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work remotely, ask clarifying questions, and provide clear status updates.
Interest in or sensitivity to the needs of older adults, caregivers, and healthcare-related environments; prior exposure to healthcare or social services is a plus.
Relevant coursework, bootcamp training, or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (completed or in progress).
