Reporting to the Solutions Architect Manager, the Solution Architect will join our Network Pre-Sales team, designing complex, secure and commercially viable network solutions for new and existing Defence customers. This is a customer-facing architecture role, requiring strong practical technical experience, broad networking knowledge and the ability to translate customer requirements into realistic, end-to-end solutions.
The role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel to our Farnborough office and UK customer sites as required.
What you’ll do:
Develop end-to-end network architectures and technical solutions for customer requirements, RFPs and business opportunities.
Translate customer business and operational requirements into appropriate network architectures.
Own the technical solution across the pre-sales lifecycle, from initial engagement through bid and engineering handover.
Develop solutions that are secure, resilient, supportable and commercially viable.
Lead technical discussions with customers and senior stakeholders, presenting solutions through workshops, presentations and technical reviews.
Work with commercial, service, bid and engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically deliverable and aligned to customer and business requirements.
Balance technical requirements, commercial constraints, risk, timescales and customer expectations to deliver practical, end-to-end solutions.
Who you are:
You’re a technically strong, customer-focused Solution Architect with a solid networking background and the ability to turn complex requirements into practical, secure and commercially viable solutions.
You’re naturally curious, self-driven and confident working with customers, engineering teams and internal stakeholders to shape solutions from initial opportunity through to delivery.
Key Requirements:
Current Security Clearance is essential (DV preferred)
Experience within the Defence / Military Sector is advantageous
Significant experience in network engineering, architecture and solution design, underpinned by strong previous technical experience.
Proven ability to design and deliver complex, business-critical network solutions across multiple technologies and environments.
Broad networking knowledge across multiple domains and vendors including Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Nokia, Ericsson, Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
Experience in a pre-sales, consultancy, architecture or customer-facing technical role
Strong understanding of Enterprise & WAN Networking, Cloud & Data Centre Networking, Network & Cyber Security, Communications & Bearer, Technologies, Operational & Physical Networking & Network Services, Automation & Management
