Role Description As an independently contracted Python Developer for the recommendation system, you will work on designing, implementing, and optimizing recommendation algorithms and services that power user-facing features. You will build and maintain backend components, APIs, and data pipelines that support model training, inference, and evaluation, ensuring reliability and performance in production. Day-to-day work includes writing clean, testable Python code, integrating with databases and external services, monitoring system behavior, and troubleshooting issues in collaboration with other developers. You will contribute to architectural decisions, participate in code reviews, and document technical designs to support long-term maintainability. This is a remote contract role, requiring effective communication and self-management across distributed teams.
Qualifications
Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs and micro services.
Applied experience in Software Development practices such as version control, testing, debugging, and code review.
Hands-on experience working with Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including schema design, querying, and performance optimisation.
Understanding of recommendation systems, machine learning fundamentals, or data-driven personalisation techniques. Having prior experience is preferred.
Familiarity with modern cloud platforms and servers architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or similar) is beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed environment, with clear communication and documentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in architecture modelling , all 3rd party tools are applicable.
