Role Description
The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading engineering organizations that design, build, and maintain technology solutions supporting Swisscanto’s asset management and sustainability-focused products. This role oversees engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and high standards of security, scalability, and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring and coaching engineering leaders, driving best practices in software development, collaborating closely with product, operations, and risk teams, and managing complex, cross-functional technology initiatives. The Vice President of Engineering will also establish performance metrics, optimize development processes, and champion innovation and continuous improvement across distributed engineering teams.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management background, including experience scaling technology organizations and building high-performing, inclusive teams.
Proven Team Leadership capabilities, with a track record of mentoring engineering leaders and fostering collaboration across remote and cross-cultural teams.
Deep Software Development expertise, including modern architectures, cloud platforms, and secure, compliant systems in financial or similarly regulated environments.
Solid Project Management skills, with the ability to oversee complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, manage risk, and deliver on time and within scope.
Experience in Product Development, partnering with product and business stakeholders to translate strategy into technical roadmaps and impactful solutions.
Advanced understanding of asset management, fintech, or financial services technology is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate at executive level.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
Experience leading remote, distributed engineering organizations and implementing modern development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps)
