Role Description The Vietnamese OPI/VRI Interpreter role is a full-time remote position responsible for providing high-quality interpretation services between Vietnamese and English over the phone (OPI) and via video (VRI). On a day-to-day basis, the interpreter will facilitate communication between clients, customers, and service providers in various settings, such as customer support, healthcare, legal, and business scenarios. Responsibilities include accurately conveying meaning, tone, and intent; maintaining confidentiality; and adhering to professional codes of conduct. The interpreter will manage scheduled and on-demand calls, prepare by reviewing any available context or terminology, and document sessions as required. This role also involves collaborating with support teams, attending periodic training, and using company platforms and tools to ensure consistent and reliable service.
Qualifications
Strong Vietnamese and English language proficiency, including excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
Experience in consecutive interpretation for phone-based (OPI) and video remote (VRI) environments, with the ability to interpret in real time is a plus.
Knowledge of professional interpreting standards, ethics, and confidentiality practices, including maintaining neutrality and accuracy.
Comfort using digital communication tools, remote work platforms, and basic computer applications to manage calls and documentation.
Effective customer service and interpersonal skills to support clear, respectful, and culturally sensitive communication.
Strong concentration, attention to detail, and time management skills to handle high call volumes and varied subject matter.
Prior experience in BPO, language services, or interpreting in sectors such as healthcare, legal, or customer support is an advantage.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in interpreting or translation is preferred.
Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work environment that supports professional audio and video communication.
