Energy Auditor

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Energy Auditor / Energy Manager with strong expertise in retail and commercial building energy systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience analyzing building energy performance, identifying energy conservation opportunities, and developing practical recommendations to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The role will involve a combination of technical energy analysis, building systems assessment, data analytics, business development support, and product development support.
Must-Have Technical / Functional Skills
Certified Energy Auditor or Energy Manager with demonstrated expertise in commercial and retail building energy systems.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, RTUs (Rooftop Units), lighting systems, refrigeration systems, and other major building energy-consuming systems.
Proven experience conducting energy analysis, energy benchmarking, performance assessments, and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and energy-saving opportunities.
Strong understanding of EMS/BMS (Energy Management / Building Management Systems) data and the ability to interpret operational and energy performance trends.
Experience with trend analysis, weather-normalized/weather-based performance assessment, and identification of operational inefficiencies.
Ability to translate energy and operational data into actionable recommendations that improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Strong understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and energy systems, including their operation, maintenance, and energy consumption characteristics.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Analysis & Optimization
Analyze building energy consumption and operational data to identify energy-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize energy conservation measures based on energy savings potential, technical feasibility, operational impact, and cost considerations.
Perform benchmarking and comparative energy-performance analysis across buildings, systems, or facilities.
Analyze EMS/BMS data, equipment trends, operating schedules, and performance parameters to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
Conduct weather-based and weather-normalized performance assessments to evaluate building energy performance under varying operating conditions.
Building & Systems Assessment
Inspect and evaluate building envelopes, HVAC/RTU systems, refrigeration systems, lighting systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical or process systems to understand energy consumption and operational performance.
Assess system operation, maintenance practices, controls, and operating conditions to identify potential sources of energy waste.
Analyze the technical feasibility and expected impact of proposed energy-saving measures using relevant engineering, construction, maintenance, and system-operation principles.
Provide technically sound recommendations for improving system efficiency, reliability, and overall building performance.
Reporting & Recommendations
Prepare detailed site assessment and energy audit reports documenting energy analysis, findings, identified opportunities, and recommended improvements.
Develop clear technical recommendations outlining potential energy savings, operational benefits, and implementation considerations.
Present technical findings and recommendations to internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders as required.
Business Development Support
Provide technical support to Business Development and customer-facing teams during solution development and client engagements.
Support the preparation of technical proposals, assessments, presentations, and solution recommendations.
Participate in customer discussions to understand energy-related challenges and translate them into technically viable solutions.
Product Development Support
Provide subject-matter expertise to support the development and enhancement of energy management, analytics, and optimization products.
Help define technical requirements and use cases based on real-world building energy systems and operational challenges.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve energy analytics, monitoring, and optimization capabilities.
