Senior Fullstack (Java + React)

We are Hiring: Senior fullstack Developer with Java (newer versions) and React or Next.js. to help build, evolve and operate scalable digital products that deliver value for our customers and colleagues. This role requires strong hands-on experience across the Java and JavaScript ecosystems, alongside practical experience using approved AI-assisted development tools as part of a modern software engineering workflow. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across the full stack and contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements:
Experience using AI tooling to support activities such as: code generation and refactoring; test creation and automation; documentation generation; code analysis and review.
Technical investigation and problem solving
Ability to review, validate and improve AI-generated outputs to ensure quality, security and maintainability
Strong commercial experience developing software using Java and Spring Boot
Experience building and operating distributed systems, RESTful APIs and microservices
Strong commercial experience using JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience building modern web applications using React (Next.js experience is desirable)
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, code quality and maintainable code
Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility and responsive design
Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and modern software delivery approaches
Experience with containerisation technologies
Understanding of infrastructure, monitoring and observability practices
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Desirable:
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies
Experience working with modern observability and monitoring tools
Experience working within large-scale digital, retail or eCommerce environments
