Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the Role
Kairos is expanding its pre-vetted talent network of exceptional African professionals who can work directly with growing U.S. companies.
We are looking for senior full-stack engineers who have shipped real production software, can own
features end to end, and can explain the technical decisions behind what they build.
Candidates who successfully complete the Kairos verification process may be matched with client opportunities as they become available. Joining the talent network does not guarantee immediate placement or employment.
What You’ll Do
Build, test, deploy, and maintain production web applications across the frontend and backend.
Own features from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
Build responsive interfaces using React/Next.js and TypeScript.
Design and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js; NestJS or comparable frameworks are a plus.
Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
Integrate third-party APIs and services securely and reliably.
Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate constructively in code review.
Deploy and operate applications using cloud infrastructure and modern CI/CD workflows.
Communicate progress, blockers, tradeoffs, and technical risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent evidence of senior-level production
ownership.
Strong React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL experience.
Strong understanding of REST APIs; GraphQL experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Git, automated testing, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Evidence of production applications you personally helped build and maintain.
Ability to reason about architecture, scalability, security, performance, and technical tradeoffs.
Excellent written and spoken English and ability to collaborate directly with international clients.

Kairos Verification Process
15-minute communication and experience screen.
Technical deep dive focused on one real product the candidate shipped.
Live technical exercise or realistic pairing scenario; no trivia-only interviews.
Architecture discussion covering tradeoffs, failure modes, security, scalability, and deployment.
Reference or work-history verification where appropriate.
Compensation
₦700,000–₦1,500,000 per month, depending on experience, technical depth, engagement scope, and client. Final compensation will depend on experience, client budget, responsibilities, hours, and engagement structure.
