Role Summary
We are seeking a freelance specialist who can join prospect and client calls, understand IT audit and governance needs, recommend an appropriate assessment, and develop credible scopes and proposals. This is a client-facing pre-sales role requiring practical audit and GRC knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to work with CRS sales and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery discussions to identify audit requirements, compliance gaps, cyber risks, AI use cases, timelines, and decision makers.
Explain CRS services and recommend suitable engagements, such as compliance gap assessments, ITGC reviews, audit readiness, risk assessments, and AI governance reviews.
Scope engagements by identifying systems, locations, stakeholders, applicable requirements, deliverables, assumptions, and effort estimates.
Prepare or review statements of work, proposals, assessment approaches, and client presentations.
Advise on IT general controls, including access management, change management, IT operations, logging, backup, and third-party oversight.
Discuss AI risks and governance controls, including AI inventories, use-case approval, data protection, human oversight, vendor risk, monitoring, and incident response.
Support sales calls, respond to technical questions and RFPs, and hand off agreed requirements to the delivery team.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in IT audit, cybersecurity GRC, compliance assessments, or technology risk.
Experience with at least two of the following: SOC 2, ISO 27001, SOX ITGC, PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST CSF, or NIST SP 800-53.
Working knowledge of AI risk and governance, including the NIST AI RMF and risks associated with LLM or GenAI applications.
Experience conducting client discovery, translating requirements into an assessment scope, and contributing to proposals or statements of work.
Ability to explain technical and compliance findings clearly to business executives and technical teams.
Strong written English and availability for meetings during U.S. business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or a comparable credential.
Experience with ISO/IEC 42001, third-party AI risk assessments, or AI security testing.
Familiarity with cloud security, IAM, penetration testing, or managed security services.
Prior experience in a consulting, advisory, or technical pre-sales role.
