Job Summary:
As a Project Manager in our PLM Services division, you will lead customer-facing software implementation projects from kickoff through deployment and customer acceptance, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate has experience managing PLM implementations, but deep PLM expertise is not required. Candidates with strong enterprise software implementation experience, particularly ERP or MES implementations, will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage end-to-end customer software implementation projects, primarily PLM, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource assignments, and deliverables based on client needs and project objectives.
· Own project financial management, including budget tracking, actuals, forecasting, Estimate to Complete (ETC), and communication of material variances.
· Act as the primary project point of contact between the client and Applied CAx delivery team, establishing clear governance, status reporting, communication, and expectations.
· Coordinate Solution Architects, technical leads, engineers, developers, consultants, and customer resources to ensure work is planned, sequenced, and executed effectively.
· Work with clients to understand business processes, requirements, priorities, and success criteria so the implementation remains aligned to business objectives.
· Coordinate project activities involving integrations with other enterprise platforms such as CAD, ERP, MES, and related business systems.
· Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, driving mitigation, escalation, and resolution before they disrupt delivery.
· Lead project kickoffs, status meetings, key workshops, go-live readiness activities, customer acceptance, and project closeout.
· Conduct post-project reviews, capture lessons learned, support a clean transition to ongoing support where applicable, and identify follow-on opportunities that add value to the client.
Education, Experience & Skills:
· 5-7 years of project management experience, including significant responsibility for customer-facing software implementation projects.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
· Demonstrated experience leading software implementations from kickoff through deployment, go-live, and customer acceptance is required.
· PLM implementation experience is preferred. Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or another enterprise PLM platform is a strong plus.
· If PLM experience is limited or absent, ERP and/or MES implementation experience is strongly preferred.
· Strong client management skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, multi-client environment.
· Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
· Experience defining and managing project scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource needs, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
· Experience managing project budgets, actuals, forecasts, ETC, and overall financial performance. Experience with both fixed-price and Time & Materials engagements is a plus.
· Strong risk, issue, and change management skills, including the ability to establish mitigation plans and escalate appropriately.
· Experience coordinating cross-functional implementation teams that may include Solution Architects, engineers, developers, IT, business stakeholders, and external partners.
· Working understanding of enterprise system integrations and the relationships among systems such as PLM, CAD, ERP, and MES.
· Familiarity with enterprise project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar platforms.
· Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies. PMP certification is preferred.
· Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business language.
· Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and client needs.
· Ability to travel to client sites when necessary, learn new technologies quickly, manage conflicting priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
