Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP Industry Solutions for Utilities, specifically IS-U Billing. The ideal consultant will have a solid understanding of end-to-end utility billing processes and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams to analyze requirements, configure solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support project delivery.
The consultant should have recent, hands-on experience working with SAP IS-U Billing and be comfortable operating independently in a client-facing environment. Experience supporting complex utility billing processes, integrations, testing, and production issues is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support SAP IS-U Billing functional activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP IS-U Billing solutions.
Perform functional configuration and customization within the SAP IS-U Billing module.
Work with business stakeholders to understand utility billing requirements, business processes, and pain points.
Design and document end-to-end billing processes and functional solutions.
Configure and support billing-related master data, billing parameters, rates, and billing processes.
Analyze and resolve billing errors, exceptions, and production issues.
Investigate complex billing scenarios and determine root causes across functional processes and integrations.
Work closely with technical teams on functional specifications, enhancements, interfaces, reports, and custom developments.
Review technical solutions to ensure they align with SAP IS-U Billing business requirements.
Participate in requirements gathering, process design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Develop functional specifications and detailed business/process documentation as required.
Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect resolution.
Prepare and execute functional test scenarios covering various utility billing scenarios.
Collaborate with integration teams to validate data flow between IS-U Billing and related SAP/non-SAP systems.
Support data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution during testing and implementation.
Participate in cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production support activities.
Provide functional guidance and knowledge transfer to other team members.
Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, project managers, and other functional teams.
