Overview
A venture-backed, early-stage technology company is seeking a Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of advanced measurement, experimentation, and causal inference solutions. This individual will play a critical role in shaping core product capabilities, validating model performance with customer data, and helping translate analytical insights into business impact.

Key Responsibilities
Own the design, testing, and optimisation of models that drive product recommendations and insights.
Translate causal inference and experimentation methodologies from research concepts into production-ready solutions.
Validate model effectiveness using real-world customer data.
Lead a critical modelling workstream from development through deployment.
Partner directly with customers during pilot programmes and proof-of-concept engagements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve analytical capabilities and product outcomes.
Contribute to the continued evolution of the company's data science and measurement strategy.
Required Qualifications
PhD strongly preferred; Master's degree considered in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline.
Experience deploying causal inference and experimentation solutions in production environments.
Hands-on expertise with methodologies such as:
Synthetic Control
Difference-in-Differences (DiD)
Double Machine Learning (DML)
Experience designing and analysing A/B tests and experimentation frameworks.
Strong Python development and model-building experience.
Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, products, frameworks, or functions in emerging or fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable interacting with customers and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in marketplace, technology, analytics, retail, consumer products, or related data-intensive industries.
Experience building data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure.
Interest or demonstrated potential in product leadership, product strategy, or future product management responsibilities.
Previous startup or early-stage company experience.
