Just Between Us is a modern intimates and wellness brand redefining what women should expect from their underwear. We believe intimate wellness, comfort, and great design should never be a tradeoff.
We’re creating elevated, fashion-forward essentials using thoughtfully selected, breathable and moisture-managing materials such as TENCEL™ Lyocell - designed to support women’s intimate environment while still feeling confident, feminine, and sexy.
Our goal is to build a new standard for everyday intimates: pieces women genuinely want to wear, made with greater intention around fabric, fit, function, and the realities of women’s bodies.
We’re currently developing our first collection and building the team that will help shape Just Between Us from the very beginning.
The Role
We’re looking for a highly creative, hands-on designer who can help shape the next phase of Just Between Us from concept through production.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong point of view who thinks beyond traditional intimates design - someone who understands where fashion is going, pays attention to culture and consumer behavior, and is excited to challenge what women’s underwear can look and feel like.
You’ll work closely with the founder to evolve the collection, develop new silhouettes and details, source materials, manage sampling and factory relationships, and help turn creative ideas into commercially viable product.
We want someone who brings ideas to the table, pushes the work forward, and isn’t afraid to question the expected approach.
What You’ll Do
Design our first drop: silhouettes, fit blocks, trims, and colorways that are unmistakably fashion-forward
Lead the materials strategy - fabric selection, gusset construction, breathability and moisture management, and the wellness claims we can honestly stand behind
Build and maintain relationships with fabric mills and cut-and-sew manufacturers; bring your existing network or actively develop one on our behalf
Own the full sampling process: tech packs, proto and fit rounds, size-set approvals, and pre-production sign-off
Negotiate MOQs, pricing, and lead times with suppliers
Build and manage cost sheets - landed cost analysis, margin modeling, and BOM tracking for every style
Coordinate production timelines and quality control through first delivery
What You Bring
3–7 years in intimates, swim, or activewear design, with at least one product you’ve taken from concept to production
Strong knowledge of fabric performance, stretch, construction, fit, and garment development
Understanding of hygienic gusset design and the difference between a wellness claim and a medical one
Established manufacturer or mill relationships, or a demonstrated track record of sourcing and vetting new suppliers
Fluency in tech packs, cost sheets, and margin math - you’re as comfortable in a spreadsheet as in a sketchbook
Negotiation experience with overseas or domestic factories
A strong, confident aesthetic point of view and the ability to defend it
Nice to Have
Experience working with TENCEL™ Lyocell and stretch blends, including an understanding of their performance, certification, and construction considerations
OEKO-TEX® or textile-science background
Prior DTC or startup launch experience
Relationships with small-batch or low-MOQ manufacturers suited to a first drop
Compensation
This is an hourly position. Compensation will be determined based on experience, scope, and qualifications. Hourly range $35 - $45.
