The Mission
Plotsy is pioneering the Plotsy vBook™—transforming written books into cinematic, episodic videos through our proprietary, AI-driven Cineversion™ process. As a Senior Production Designer, you will not just execute beautiful designs; you will own the visual standard for our entire slate and build the design systems and team capable of hitting it.
How You Will Spend Your Time
40% Elite Design Execution: You own the hardest assignments. You will design the foundational cast, environments, and color/light keys for new titles that serve as the blueprint for the rest of the production.
40% Team Mentorship & Review: You will review the work of Production Designers before it hits the Showrunner. You catch consistency issues early and coach artists to improve their technical and creative output.
10% Pipeline & Workflow Engineering: You own the Design Playbook. You define the structural asset conventions and standards for what makes a design "consistent enough to generate from." You partner with the Principal AI Production Engineer to test new models and integrate them into the workflow.
10% Leadership Collaboration: You will partner closely with the CCO, CTO, CPO, and COO to set the operational pace, training structures, and production processes for the entire creative team.
Daily Responsibilities
Create Visual DNA: Translate book prose into comprehensive design packages (character reference sheets across multiple angles, architectural environments, and emotional color scripts).
Enforce Character Consistency: Ensure characters maintain exact structural continuity across varied lighting, wardrobe changes, and cinematic angles.
Systemize Handoffs: Structure asset libraries so that downstream Directors and Editors can locate and deploy assets seamlessly weeks into production.
Iterate and Refine: Take on rapid design revisions when assets fail or distort during the motion and rendering pipeline phases.
What You Must Bring
Senior Art Background: Proven experience as a Production Designer, Art Director, or Lead Concept Artist. We want to see entire worlds carried across a body of work, not just isolated illustrations.
Generative AI Mastery: Deep, production-grade command of AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, ControlNet, reference conditioning, seed management, and advanced upscaling).
Traditional Art Foundation: Elite grounding in anatomy, perspective, and lighting. You must be able to manually paint over and fix what the AI model gets wrong.
Pipeline Judgment: The ability to look at a design and know instantly whether our generation stack can reproduce it consistently in motion.
Systems Thinking & Mentorship: Experience building toolsets, templates, or playbooks that others have successfully executed, paired with a natural ability to coach junior artists.
