Fund Accountant- Private Equity

Position Overview
The Fund Accountant will support the accounting, financial reporting, and administration of one or more private equity fund vehicles, working closely with the CFO, fund administrator, and auditors to ensure accurate and timely fund-level and investor-level reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger and books and records for assigned fund entities, including recording capital calls, distributions, management fees, and carried interest calculations.
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Calculate capital calls and distributions, including waterfall and allocation calculations across limited partners.
Reconcile cash, investments, and capital accounts, and work with the fund administrator to review NAV packages and investor statements.
Support the preparation of quarterly investor reports, capital account statements, and management fee/carry calculations.
Assist with the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and preparing supporting schedules and financial statement drafts.
Support tax reporting needs, including coordination with tax preparers on K-1s and other filings.
Monitor fund compliance with partnership agreements, side letters, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, investor due diligence requests, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, public accounting (audit), or fund administration, ideally with private equity or other alternative investment exposure.
Strong understanding of partnership accounting, waterfall structures, and capital account mechanics.
Proficiency with accounting and fund administration systems (e.g., Investran or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of AI analytics tools (e.g., Claude or Microsoft Copilot and their integration with Excel)
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills, and manage deadline-driven deliverables.
Comfortable working in a night-shift schedule, following EST time.
