Part-time Volunteer CEO - unpaid

BetaBuilders is a nonprofit, volunteer-led community that connects early-stage founders with skilled volunteers—developers, designers, and product thinkers—to help turn ideas into MVPs. We create a space where people can build real products, grow their skills, strengthen portfolios, and collaborate on meaningful startup projects.
BetaBuilders is focused on action, learning by doing, and creating impact through collaboration. We support both local and international participation, bringing together builders and founders across regions to help ideas move forward faster. As a non-budget organization, BetaBuilders does not manage funds or financial operations; our work is centered on community coordination, partnerships, outreach, and hands-on execution through volunteer effort.
Role Description
This is an unpaid, volunteer remote role for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at BetaBuilders. The Volunteer CEO will lead the organization’s growth and visibility by driving community outreach, partnerships, founder engagement, and volunteer recruitment across local and international networks.
The CEO will play a key role in expanding BetaBuilders by:
building relationships with founders, startup communities, universities, and ecosystem partners
attracting volunteers who want to grow through real startup experience
developing outreach and marketing initiatives to increase awareness and participation
coordinating community events, meetups, and collaboration opportunities (online and/or local)
guiding organizational priorities and ensuring the community remains mission-aligned and action-oriented
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building communities, connecting people, and creating momentum. As BetaBuilders is a non-budget nonprofit, this role does not involve managing budgets, funds, or financial administration.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and community-building skills
Experience in growth, outreach, partnerships, or ecosystem development
Ability to attract and engage founders, volunteers, and collaborators
Experience in marketing, communications, or community promotion (social media, campaigns, partnerships, etc.)
Event coordination or program coordination experience (online and/or in-person)
Strategic planning and organizational planning skills to support long-term growth
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and backgrounds
Ability to lead effectively in a volunteer-driven, mission-focused environment
Prior experience in startups, communities, nonprofits, accelerators, student organizations, or volunteer-led initiatives is highly beneficial
