Role Description The Vice President Operations is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational performance and alignment with Providence Health Plan’s mission and strategic priorities. This role leads operational teams, sets and monitors key performance indicators, and ensures efficient processes across functional areas. The Vice President Operations partners with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, supports P&L accountability, and drives operational improvements that enhance member and provider experiences. Responsibilities include developing operational plans, managing cross-functional projects, supporting customer service excellence, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. The role also involves mentoring leaders, improving workflows, and using data-driven insights to optimize outcomes and resource allocation.
Qualifications
Strong Operations Management skills, including process optimization, resource planning, and performance measurement.
Proficiency in P&L Management and financial oversight to support sustainable, mission-aligned growth.
Customer Service expertise with a focus on member and provider experience, issue resolution, and service quality.
Strategic Planning capabilities, including setting long-term objectives, aligning operations with organizational strategy, and driving change.
Project Management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines, and ensure successful execution.
Proven leadership experience at the director or VP level, preferably within health plans, healthcare, or a related industry.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills in a remote environment.
Ability to use data and analytics to inform decisions, track performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MHA) is beneficial.
