Role Description The Field Executive F&V Sourcing and Quality is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This role involves visiting farms, collection centers, and local markets to identify and source high-quality fruits and vegetables that meet tru’s standards for freshness and safety. The Field Executive will regularly inspect produce, conduct quality checks, monitor handling and storage conditions, and ensure adherence to clean-label and non-chemical practices. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with farmers and suppliers, negotiating pricing and supply terms, tracking inventory and wastage, and collaborating with the operations and warehouse teams for timely procurement and dispatch. The role also includes maintaining documentation, reporting quality issues, suggesting process improvements, and supporting new supplier onboarding to strengthen tru’s sourcing network.
Qualifications
Experience in fresh produce sourcing, procurement, or supply chain operations, preferably in fruits and vegetables.
Knowledge of quality standards for F&V, including grading, shelf life, handling, and food safety practices.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with farmers, aggregators, and local suppliers.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills to identify quality issues and resolve them on-site.
Comfort with fieldwork, travel within the Greater Bengaluru Area, and working in market and farm environments.
Basic data recording and reporting skills; familiarity with mobile apps or simple digital tools for tracking procurement and quality.
Good communication skills in English and local languages for coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Prior experience in grocery, agri-business, retail, or food supply chains is an advantage.
Relevant diploma or degree in agriculture, food technology, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
