AU Intermediate Bookkeeper

Intermediate Bookkeeper (Australian Accounting Experience) | Remote | Full-Time
We're looking for an Australian Intermediate Bookkeeper who is ready to take ownership of the end-to-end bookkeeping process and become a trusted partner to our Australian clients. This role goes beyond simple data entry. You'll play a critical part in maintaining the financial health of small and medium-sized businesses by delivering accurate, timely, and reliable bookkeeping services.

About the Role
As an intermediate bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities and ensuring clients' financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant.
Master of the Ledger
Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of Australian clients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Responsibilities include:
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
Transaction coding and data integrity
Month-end bookkeeping tasks
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Champion of Payroll & Compliance
Support Australian businesses by ensuring payroll and compliance obligations are managed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities include:
Processing payroll and maintaining employee records
Managing superannuation and employee entitlements
Assisting with BAS/IAS preparation and supporting compliance requirements
Applying GST treatment correctly across transactions
Cloud Accounting Expert
Leverage modern cloud-based accounting solutions to streamline processes and deliver valuable financial insights. You'll work with:

Hubdoc
Dext
Xero Practice Manager
Other cloud-based accounting and practice management tools
Drive Operational Excellence
Maintain exceptional accuracy while managing multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

What You'll Bring
Experience
Minimum 3+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience
Experience working with Australian accounting or bookkeeping firms
Proven experience managing multiple clients or entities
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Xero
Solid understanding of:
GST
Payroll processing
Superannuation
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Bank reconciliations
BAS/IAS support
Professional Attributes
