Audio Engineer – German Commercial Post-Production

This role involves post-production audio engineering for a 20-second German-language commercial adapted from an original Swedish version. The project requires working with supplied German voice recordings, each provided as a separate track per speaker. The scene features three friends moving a sofa up a stairwell, with dynamic dialogue and sound effects, including a moment where the sofa hits a ceiling light and glass slides down a marble staircase. The engineer will be responsible for editing, spatial treatment, and final mixing to ensure the audio seamlessly matches the existing picture cut and delivers a convincing, immersive soundscape.
Responsibilities
Select and edit the best takes to fit the existing video cut, ensuring dialogue timing aligns with on-screen action.
Clean all tracks for noise, clicks, and breaths, and balance levels across three speakers for clarity and consistency.
Apply spatial audio techniques, including reverb, early reflections, and panning, to convincingly place dialogue within the stairwell environment and match camera perspectives, especially for the off-floor voice.
Integrate the dry dialogue with the existing music and effects bed, maintaining natural transitions and sonic cohesion.
Normalize the final mix to meet platform loudness standards.
Create a 6-second cut-down version from the same material, preserving narrative clarity and audio quality.
Skills And Requirements
Proven experience in audio post-production for commercials, film, or broadcast, with a strong portfolio demonstrating spatial audio work.
Expertise in dialogue editing, noise reduction, and mixing for multi-speaker scenes.
Advanced proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reaper) and audio restoration tools.
Deep understanding of spatial audio processing, including reverb, early reflections, and perspective matching.
Ability to work with supplied dialogue tracks and existing music/effects beds, ensuring seamless integration.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
Fluency in German is highly desirable for dialogue editing accuracy.
Availability for immediate start and rapid turnaround.
