Associate - Cost Management - Commercial Occupier

We are seeking an experienced Associate, Cost Management to join our Cost and Commercial Management team, supporting the delivery of workplace, fit-out, refurbishment and capital projects for leading corporate occupier, real estate and investment clients.
This is a client-facing leadership role that combines project delivery excellence with the opportunity to contribute to business growth. Working alongside project managers, consultants and contractors, you will provide strategic cost and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle, helping clients achieve their investment objectives while delivering successful project outcomes.
As an Associate, you will lead the delivery of cost management commissions from project inception through to completion. You will play a key role in providing independent commercial advice, managing project financial performance and supporting clients in making informed investment decisions.
You will also contribute to the growth of the business through the development of client relationships, account management and supporting work-winning opportunities across the Corporate Occupier and Real Estate sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of cost and commercial management services across workplace, fit-out, refurbishment and capital projects.
Prepare and manage feasibility estimates, cost plans, budgets, cash flow forecasts and benchmark studies.
Provide strategic cost advice throughout planning, design, procurement and delivery phases.
Manage procurement processes, tender evaluations and commercial negotiations.
Administer contracts, assess variations and manage final accounts.
Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, risk and change control processes.
Prepare and present cost reports, commercial insights and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and project teams.
Support business development activities, proposals, presentations and client pursuits.
Identify opportunities for repeat business and expanded service offerings.
Mentor and develop Cost Managers, Assistant Cost Managers and Graduates.
Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing and client-focused team culture.
Qualifications
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Property Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
Professional membership of AIQS, RICS, MRICS, CQS or equivalent, or working towards accreditation.
8+ years' experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Demonstrated experience delivering workplace, fit-out, refurbishment, commercial real estate or capital projects.
Strong capability in cost planning, estimating, procurement, contract administration and post-contract cost management.
Sound understanding of project controls, forecasting, risk management and commercial reporting.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and client-facing skills.
Proven experience leading project teams and mentoring junior professionals.
Experience contributing to business development, client account management and work-winning activities.
