Fuels Pricing Lead

The Fuels Pricing Lead is a high-impact commercial role responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies across a significant portfolio within one of Australia's largest service station networks. Reporting to the General Manager Retail Fuels, this role combines strategic thinking, advanced analytics and commercial decision-making to optimise pricing performance while balancing volume, margin, customer value and market competitiveness.
You will provide:
Develop and execute retail fuel pricing strategies across a multi-state portfolio.
Translate market insights and enterprise strategy into effective site-level pricing actions.
Monitor competitor activity, wholesale cost movements and market trends to drive commercial performance.
Analyse large and complex datasets to identify opportunities, risks and performance drivers.
Prepare executive-ready reports, dashboards and presentations to support business decision-making.
Utilise pricing systems, automation, advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve pricing outcomes.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across pricing processes, systems and reporting capabilities.
Provide direction, coaching and support to Pricing Analysts while building team capability.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive effective execution of pricing strategies.
Ensure pricing activities align with governance requirements and regulatory obligations.

At least 5 years' experience in commercial analytics, revenue management or a related discipline.
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience developing and executing strategy in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Advanced analytical capability with experience working with large and complex datasets.
Proven ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations and actionable outcomes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive-level reports and presentations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and enterprise data systems.
Experience leading, coaching or mentoring analysts or other team members.
Desirable: Experience in retail fuel pricing, convenience retail, FMCG or another high-frequency pricing environment.
Desirable: Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python or R and relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Analytics or a related field.
