Role Description
This is an unpaid, remote internship for a Front & Back End Developer Intern, with the opportunity to pursue a partnership and potential company equity upon successful completion of the internship, subject to eligibility, company approval, and a separate written agreement.
The intern will collaborate with the product, design, and development teams to build, test, and refine user-facing features and core application services.
Responsibilities include developing responsive front-end interfaces, contributing to back-end APIs and data models, troubleshooting technical issues, and writing clean, maintainable code. The intern will also assist with technology integrations, performance optimization, security improvements, and deployment and version control workflows.
Additional responsibilities include participating in code reviews, documenting technical work, and applying best practices for accessible, secure, and privacy-conscious application development.
Qualifications
Programming: Knowledge of programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming (OOP).
Front-End Development: Familiarity with building responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
Back-End Development: Understanding of server-side development, APIs, and web application architecture.
Software Development: Ability to contribute to the development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of web applications.
Web Technologies: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks, RESTful APIs, and databases.
Version Control: Experience with Git or similar version control tools is preferred.
Testing & Debugging: Understanding of basic testing practices and troubleshooting techniques.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively and work independently within a remote, cross-functional team.
Security & Accessibility: Interest in privacy, security, accessible design, and inclusive technology.
Education: Current enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
