Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer / Developer to help solve some of the most complex technical challenges across our platform. This role is suited to a strong engineering-minded problem solver who can analyse difficult problems and connect the dots across the platform of our products, design robust solutions and deliver high quality software. You will play a key role in shaping architecture, improving platform capabilities and supporting future initiatives involving distributed systems, AI-enabled functionality, search technologies and large-scale APIs.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test and maintain high quality software throughout the full development lifecycle.
Solve complex technical and architectural challenges using sound engineering principles.
Contribute to API, backend and cloud platform development using modern Microsoft technologies.
Collaborate with product, engineering and leadership teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
Analyse, diagnose and resolve difficult production and performance issues.
Apply clean code, object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
Support technical decision making, code reviews and knowledge sharing across the team.
Leverage AI tools appropriately to increase effectiveness whilst maintaining quality and ownership.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, scalability and reliability.
Essential Requirements
Strong professional experience developing software with C# and modern .NET.
Excellent understanding of software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, system design and problem solving.
Experience with ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server.
Experience working with Azure services including web applications, functions, databases, event hubs and storage.
Strong understanding of testing practices, version control and Agile delivery methodologies.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
C1 level English proficiency or native-level fluency.
STEM / Computer Science degree or equivalent evidence of advanced engineering capability and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
Desirable Experience
Search and indexing technologies.
AI/ML-enabled products or AI-assisted development workflows.
Distributed systems and scalability optimisation.
Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
REST API documentation, Swagger/OpenAPI.
Duende Identity Server.
Source generation in .NET.
Exposure to frontend technologies, such as React, and full-stack development.

How we Work
Fully remote across the UK, Ireland or Spain. We meet in person a few times a year for team events, but day-to-day work is remote.
