Job Description: Automation QA Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for an Automation QA Engineer to support multiple Agile sprint teams in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be strong in integration testing, API automation, and UI automation, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and frameworks.
This role requires someone who can contribute across teams based on business priorities, collaborate closely with developers and other QA professionals, and implement automation within the same sprint whenever possible.
Key Responsibilities
Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for APIs and UI workflows.
Perform integration testing across platforms such as MuleSoft and Apigee.
Contribute to multiple sprint teams based on project and release requirements.
Implement progressive automation within the same sprint as feature development.
Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution.
Support test planning, test case creation, execution, and reporting.
Maintain reusable automation components and improve test coverage.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Use Git for source-code management and collaborate through standard version-control practices.
Learn and adopt AI-assisted testing and development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Kiro.
Mandatory Requirements
Strong experience in integration testing, including both manual and automated testing.
Experience testing integrations involving MuleSoft and/or Apigee.
Strong hands-on experience with Java-based API automation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment and automate features within the same sprint.
Good understanding of REST APIs, request/response validation, authentication, and data validation.
Strong understanding of software testing processes, test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and regression testing.
Experience with UI automation using Selenium or a comparable automation framework.
Basic working knowledge of Git.
Ability to work independently across multiple teams and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Willingness to learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and testing frameworks.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Spock and Groovy.
Experience with Selenide or similar UI automation tools.
Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud testing.
Experience working with API automation frameworks using Java.
Exposure to AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Kiro.
Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models and continuous testing practices.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test execution integration.
Note: Spock/Groovy is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with strong Java and REST API automation experience should be able to learn and adopt Spock/Groovy within one or two sprints.
Required Experience
Experience in QA automation and software testing.
Strong background in API and integration testing.
Hands-on experience with Java and REST API automation.
Experience working with multiple Agile teams or projects is an advantage.
Salesforce experience is recommended but not mandatory.
Working Hours and Availability
The resource will support teams operating in the U.S. Eastern Time zone.
Shift timings would be 3 AM to 12 PM ET.
The role requires sufficient overlap with client and sprint-team working hours.
Contract Details
Contract duration: Initially through the end of the year.
The engagement is highly likely to extend through Q1 of the following year
Work arrangement: Remote.
Device policy: Candidates are expected to use their own device.
Time off: Leave may be taken with adequate advance notice and prior approval.
Interview Process
The selection process is expected to include 2–3 interview rounds:
Technical interview.
Client interview.
Additional discussion, if required.
