Lead Software Engineer

About the role
We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to be the technical anchor of our development team. You'll
spend most of your time building, around 70-80% hands-on coding, while guiding a small team of
front-end and back-end developers on how things get built.
You'll work closely with the CEO and the Product Manager, report to the CTO, and work within the CTO's
architecture and security standards, and play a central technical role in our migration from Salesforce to an
in-house platform. Once the new platform is in place, you'll help build an LLM-powered intelligence
platform on top of its data.
What you'll do
Build (hands-on)
• Design and build core features across the stack, with a focus on the most complex and critical parts
• Lead the technical design of the Salesforce-to-in-house migration: data model, integrations, data
migration and cutover
• Lead code reviews and set standards for code quality, testing and documentation
Deliver
• Serve as engineering's main point of contact for product and leadership
• Turn product requirements into technical designs, break them into tasks and give reliable estimates
• Own sprint delivery and implementation decisions, and communicate progress and risks clearly
Lead
• Mentor developers, pair on hard problems and help them grow
• Support technical interviews and hiring
Align
• Apply the architecture and security standards, make sure the team follows them consistently, and
propose changes through design reviews
• Get technical feasibility sign-off on roadmap items before committing to deliveryWhat we're looking for
Must-have
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years as a Tech Lead or Lead
Engineer
• Strong full-stack skills: a modern front-end framework (React, Angular or Flutter) and a back-end stack
(TypeScript/Node.js or Python)
• Solid experience in system design, API design and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Production experience on AWS, with Docker and CI/CD
• Strong grasp of security best practices and clean, testable code
• Proven ability to mentor developers and lead technical discussions
• Fluent English, written and spoken (French and/or Arabic is a plus)
Nice-to-have
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce (data model, APIs, integrations) or a SaaS/CRM migration
• Healthcare or telehealth experience, including building clinical applications
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and integrations (e.g., FHIR, HL7)
• Experience building LLM or AI-powered product features (RAG, agents, evaluation, guardrails)
• Experience with event-driven architecture, microservices or message queues
• Familiarity with security and compliance (SOC 2, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, GDPR)
• Startup or remote/distributed team experience
