We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, with strong expertise in GCP, BigQuery, and SQL. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand complex data and business requirements, design practical solutions, and deliver them into production.
The candidate should be highly hands-on, comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and capable of independently owning solutions from requirement gathering through development, deployment, and production support.
Key Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on expertise in GCP, particularly BigQuery and Cloud Storage (GCS)
Excellent SQL skills, including complex queries, data transformation, reconciliation, optimization, and performance tuning
Strong experience designing and developing ETL/ELT data pipelines
Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data integration
Experience with BigQuery partitioning, clustering, incremental processing, and cost optimization
Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with Bash/Shell scripting
Experience integrating data from databases, APIs, files, and cloud platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data and production issues
Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar data environments and develop practical solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
Preferred/Good to Have:
Experience with GCP services such as Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, IAM, and Cloud Composer/Airflow
Experience with Dataform or dbt
Exposure to AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and IAM
Knowledge of PySpark
Experience with data quality, reconciliation, and validation frameworks
Experience with CI/CD, Git, Terraform, and cloud migrations
Experience working in customer-facing or consulting environments
Exposure to multi-cloud data integration and migration projects
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand business problems, data requirements, and technical challenges
Translate ambiguous requirements into practical, scalable, and production-ready data solutions
Design and develop data pipelines and solutions using GCP, BigQuery, SQL, and Python
Analyze customer data, identify data issues and gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions
Build and optimize BigQuery-based data models and SQL transformations
Integrate data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, files, and cloud platforms
Rapidly prototype and validate solutions, and take successful implementations through production deployment
Perform data validation, reconciliation, integration testing, and troubleshoot production issues
Own assigned solutions end-to-end, including development, deployment, monitoring, and support
Work closely with internal engineering, architecture, product, and customer teams to deliver solutions
Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and cloud cost
Participate in technical design and code reviews and promote engineering best practices
Document solutions, technical decisions, data mappings, and operational processes
Provide technical guidance to other engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing
Support AWS-based integrations and cloud migration initiatives where required
Compesation:
Rs. 5 Lakhs Per Anum to 10 Lakhs Per Anum
