FoundationCX is a technology delivery company. With our partner in Saudi Arabia, we are preparing a large e-learning program: turning training material into interactive SCORM packages that run on Moodle.
The role
We are looking for a senior instructional designer who has done this before, at scale. You will set the method, speak for it in meetings with stakeholders, and help us build the team that delivers it.
How we select (short and unpaid)
• Shortlisted candidates get a short exercise of about 2 hours: a 2-page sample of training content to turn into learning objectives, a screen outline showing where interactions and knowledge checks go, and 3 quiz questions.
• Then a 30-minute call: you walk us through the exercise and one package from your portfolio.
What you will do when the program starts (paid)
• Define the standard package: length, screens, interactions, knowledge checks, review rounds and acceptance criteria.
• Recommend the production workflow, the authoring tool and the SCORM settings on Moodle.
• Size the team: roles, packages per team per month, and cost per package.
• Build or supervise the pilot package on an approved template.
• Join stakeholder meetings as our instructional-design lead, and explain the methodology choices.
• Lead instructional design and quality across production, and review packages before delivery.
• Help recruit and guide the production team: instructional designers, e-learning developers, a graphic designer and QA.
Must have
• 5+ years of instructional design for e-learning, with a portfolio.
• You have led the production of 20+ SCORM modules or courses.
• Strong command of ADDIE (and SAM), Bloom's taxonomy, Gagné's nine events and Kirkpatrick, and you can explain why one approach fits better than another.
• Hands-on with Articulate Storyline/Rise, iSpring Suite or Adobe Captivate, and with SCORM 1.2/2004 tracking (completion, score, resume) on Moodle.
• Arabic (RTL) e-learning experience. Native Arabic, professional English.
• Able to estimate effort and cost per module and to plan team capacity.
• Confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
Nice to have
• Knowledge of the e-learning content standards of Saudi Arabia's National eLearning Center (NELC).
• Training programs for government bodies or large organizations in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• AI-assisted content production.
• Accessibility (WCAG) for e-learning.
• Based in Saudi Arabia.
Engagement
Freelance consulting, part-time and remote. We are selecting now; the paid engagement starts when the program goes ahead, and the fee is agreed then. It can fit alongside another job.
