Software Engineer Intern

Role Description
We are looking for interns to collaborate on some fun creative projects.
As we get to know the successful candidates, we will then link them with commissioned projects from clients with prospects of a long-term full time position.
You would focus on supporting the development of web-based and software solutions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and testing code, assisting with back-end feature implementation, debugging issues, and collaborating with developers, designers, and other creators on project tasks.
The intern will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help maintain code quality and performance. This role also involves learning and applying ElCode’s structured, collaborative development process while working closely with mentors and project leads.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Practical experience or coursework in react, next.js and node.js is required
Interest or experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, such as working with APIs, databases, or server-side frameworks.
Ability to read, understand, and contribute to existing codebases, with attention to clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback in a collaborative, remote environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
Good to Have
Experience or naturally good eye for design and creative thinking.
