Role Description The Senior Bioinformatics Scientist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing computational workflows for biological data, with a particular focus on sequencing and genomics projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing large-scale sequencing datasets, applying advanced statistical methods, interpreting results, and collaborating with experimental scientists to translate findings into actionable insights. The role involves leading research initiatives, documenting methodologies, preparing technical reports, and contributing to publications or internal knowledge repositories. The Senior Bioinformatics Scientist will also guide junior team members, participate in project planning, and ensure data quality and reproducibility across studies. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune City, with compensation at 12 LPA.
Qualifications
Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in Statistics and Data Analysis for large biological datasets.
Demonstrated expertise in Sequencing and DNA Sequencing, including workflows, quality control, and interpretation of sequencing outcomes.
Proven experience in scientific Research, particularly in bioinformatics, genomics, or related life science domains.
Hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools, pipelines, and programming languages commonly used in the field (e.g., Python, R, shell scripting).
Familiarity with databases, version control, and best practices for reproducible and documented computational research.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex scientific findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Genomics, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work on-site in Pune City, collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, and mentor junior scientists.
