Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API test suites using Cypress with JavaScript/TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure high software quality, fast release cycles, and reliable continuous integration.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation Development: Design, write, and execute robust, maintainable UI and API automated test scripts using Cypress and JavaScript or TypeScript.
Framework Enhancement: Maintain and enhance our existing web automation frameworks to support cross-browser and parallel testing.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated Cypress test suites into continuous integration pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI).
Test Planning & Execution: Review product requirement specifications to create clear, structured test plans, test scenarios, and edge-case coverage.
Defect Tracking & Reporting: Identify, log, and track software bugs using ticketing systems like Jira, providing detailed reproduction steps and logs.
Continuous Quality Improvement: Work alongside developers to debug failing tests, reduce test flakiness, and optimize test run times.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation.
2+ years of dedicated experience using Cypress for web application testing.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for scripting and framework development.
Proven experience in API Testing (RESTful services) using Cypress or tools like Postman.
Hands-on experience integrating test scripts with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Solid understanding of modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS, DOM, REST APIs, JSON).
Experience with version control tools, specifically Git (branching, merging, pull requests).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with TypeScript migration or building TypeScript-based Cypress frameworks.
Familiarity with performance or security testing tools.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
